How does it work?
We use a
non Thermal - Low Intensity laser Therapy (LILT)
The application of infra-red light to damaged tissue/bone stimulating cell function induces the body's self healing mechanism, which brings
- natural pain relief,
- improves immune response,
- improves blood flow,
- reduces inflamation and swelling
- increases the speed of skin and tissue repair.
The light energy is absorbed through the skin to the cells and converted to chemical energy. The cell function improves, triggering the body's self healing mechanism and endorphins and seritonin are released to give pain relief. Low level laser (LILT) has a photochemical (not thermal) effect on the cells and also has an anti-inflammatory effect.
The application with "laser beam " to acupuncture points on the anatomy, enhances healing and boosts the immune system and general well being.
Instead of 'needles", the acupunture points are stimulated by the beam of infra-red light (i.e painless and non-invasive) activating the nerve cells to produce healing enzymes and endorphins .
